Saxony was afflicted in august 2002 by the worst flood within living memory.
Ten thousands humans had to be evacuated and accommodated in emergency accommodations, since for instance 30000 of houses of the water were destroyed or damaged. The flood cost the life to twenty humans, about 750km roads, 540km of course tracks and 180 bridges were completely destroyed.
